Mohammed V (1844-1918) is the brother of Abdul Hamid II. He had to face the Italo-Turkish war of 1911-1912, then the two Balkan wars of 1912-1914. Turkey is the ally of the Central Powers during the First World War. The Armenian genocide began in 1915. The Franco-English were bogged down in the Dardanelles against the Turks and the Germans.
