The work deals with the entire production of the famous city from its origins to the
definitive closure of the mint by Florence, including the issues of the Montalcino mint
and those made by Cosimo I.
A further 240 main types are reported, many of which are accompanied by numerous
variants. Numerous unpublished mint marks are also surveyed.
Most of the issues, thanks to careful archive work, show the resolution that authorised
their issue. Several period forgeries are also listed in the appendix.
Also included with the work is the price list with market values in MB and BB
conservations.
