Prusias I, the son of Ziaelas (255-228 BC), grandson of Nicomedes I (279-255 BC) is certainly one of the greatest Bithynian monarchs. He succeeded in maintaining his kingdom in a difficult period in the face of Seleucid hegemony. He married one of the daughters of Philip V of Macedon, Apama.
